During Bike Week (11th-17th June 2018), Cambridge employer Mott MacDonald, rewarded staff cycling to work with a free bikers’ breakfast. The bike to work breakfast was a way to engage and reward employees for using this sustainable travel mode. Employees were able to network with other colleagues whilst enjoying a coffee, fruit, croissants, juice and an energy bar.
Mott MacDonald also arranged for staff to make their own smoothies, using pedal power. They hired a stationary bike fitted with a special blender that spins as you pedal, mixing up delicious fruit smoothies in an instant. The smoothie bike was a fantastic way to generate interaction and engagement, whilst bringing out the competitive nature of colleagues.
Bike to Work breakfasts are a fun and positive way to engage staff and reward those who travel to work sustainably. If you’d like some support and advice on delivering activities to promote sustainable travel, boost staff morale and create a happier and healthy workforce, please contact us.
