Yesterday marked the second day Travel for Cambridgeshire supported the University of Cambridge (The Judge Business School) to promote sustainable transport modes. 

2018 is the 20th year that Travel for Cambridgeshire (TfC) have been supporting businesses to measure and record how their employees get to and from work. During a one-week period (6th – 12th Oct 2018), the annual Travel to Work Survey asks how commuters travel, providing a ‘snapshot’ of employee travel behaviours.

Travel for Cambridgeshire, visited Babraham Research Campus today and offered staff advice on cycle security, and provided registration and security marking onto the Immobilse online police database.

During Bike Week (11th-17th June 2018), Cambridge employer Mott MacDonald, rewarded staff cycling to work with a free bikers’ breakfast. The bike to work breakfast was a way to engage and reward employees for using this sustainable travel mode. 

Northstowe is a sustainable new town currently under construction (10,000 new homes), based on the site of the former RAF Oakington and surrounding farmland. In 2017, Travel for Cambridgeshire were appointed Travel Plan Coordinators for Phase 1 of the Northstowe development.  

Smart Cambridge has launched a new mobile travel app to help residents, commuters and visitors plan their journeys around Cambridge.
